Stella McCartney—Kuwait

Working with Trafalgar, an internationally recognised luxury retail consortium, MASS Concrete completed its 110th project for Stella McCartney, bringing the brand’s London Bond Street flagship concept to The Avenues, Kuwait City.

Luxury brands need every store to feel unmistakably theirs, whether it opens in London, Kuwait or anywhere else. Over 10 years and more than a hundred Stella McCartney stores, MASS has become an extension of the brand’s store design team. We hold approved colours, textures and details on file, so each new store matches the brand standard from the first sample.

That consistency matters most on international projects. We work directly with regional partners such as Trafalgar to deliver the brand’s concept locally. Our team manages manufacture, packing and export from our UK factory, and provides installation guidance so local contractors can fit the panels with confidence. The brand gets the same finish it sees on Bond Street, and the partner gets a supplier who already knows the design inside out.

The store
Internal walls are clad with MASS fluted concrete in a range of textures, with waterjet-cut slots for shelf spigots so the display system fits cleanly into the walls. Overhead portals separate each retail zone and are clad in MASS etched panels. A bespoke cast-in fixing system makes them quicker and easier to install on site.

At the entrance, low-level MASS concrete bespoke signage is backlit with Stella McCartney’s trademark logo, creating a strong first impression as customers arrive. MASS also supplied floor panels with an etched surface finish to achieve the required slip rating, carrying the concrete aesthetic seamlessly from wall to floor.

Sustainability
Stella McCartney is a pioneer of sustainable luxury, and that approach runs through how we make every piece for the brand.

Because we have worked on so many Stella McCartney stores, we keep the moulds for the brand’s signature profiles in stock and reuse them from project to project. This cuts the material and waste involved in making new tooling for each store and shortens lead times, so new stores open sooner.

Our concrete is made with locally sourced aggregates, which reduces the carbon footprint of transport before production even begins. Our factory runs on 100% renewable energy, and a closed-loop water system captures, filters and reuses the water from our production process rather than sending it to waste.

The result is a durable, long-lasting finish made with the smallest footprint we can achieve, matching the values behind the brand itself.
