Rustic Texture meets Industrial Precision; the DB11 sample represents a sophisticated development in our board-marked concrete range. By casting against timber shuttering, we capture the authentic grain and knot details of natural wood, which is then enhanced through a meticulous acid-etching process. This treatment creates a rugged, “weathered” aesthetic that feels both historic and contemporary.
The unique character of DB11 is derived from its specialist mix design. Utilising locally sourced sand and high-performance cement, we create a light, neutral canvas. This is then carefully pigmented with a combination of Black and Blue, resulting in a cool-toned, stony grey that mimics the appearance of natural basalt or aged masonry.
Beyond its visual appeal, the acid-etched surface provides a tactile, non-slip finish that is ideal for internal feature walls, external cladding, and landscape architecture. The etching process not only reduces surface glare but also ensures the texture remains durable against the elements, maintaining its rustic charm over time.
In line with our commitment to sustainable design, the DB11 base can be further enhanced by incorporating recycled aggregates or sustainable sands to lower its carbon footprint. While DB11 is a popular choice for its natural “concrete” look, we offer limitless possibilities for customisation. We can calibrate this board-marked finish to match any RAL, Pantone, or bespoke colour reference to suit your specific project requirements.
