Part of our Graphite Blend range, G013CA is a polished architectural concrete with a deep, dark grey tone. Superfine sand, unsieved sharp sand and 10mm shingle are blended with blue and black pigments. Polishing then brings the coarse aggregate through as a subtle, flecked texture. With a Light Reflectance Value (LRV) of 23.37%, it sits at the darker, low-reflectance end of our palette, which suits schemes that need a rich, grounded material.

 

The smooth, polished face works well on surfaces that are seen and touched up close, such as reception desks, counter tops and furniture cladding. On wall panels and feature walls, the dark tone gives a space weight and contrast, and the flecked aggregate catches the light.

 

The sands and aggregates in this mix are locally sourced. That keeps transport distances short and supports regional supply chains. It is one of the ways we are working towards more sustainable concrete production at MASS, alongside careful mix design that meets each project’s performance needs without wasting material. Where a project allows, we can also look at using recycled or alternative aggregates.
