BB08 C7_R_RESIN – Grey Building Waste Concrete

BB08_C7_R is the textured counterpart to our polished BB08_C7, from the Basalt Black range. The cool grey matrix, coloured with black pigment, is the same, as is the fully reclaimed mix of crushed brick from building waste, recycled shingle and fine black basalt dust. The difference is in the finish. The surface is retarded: a retarder is applied to the mould face and the softened paste is washed away after demoulding, leaving the reclaimed stone standing proud of the grey in ochre, yellow, terracotta and black. The LRV of this mix is 26.77% in a polished finish, and will vary with the exposed aggregate.

Exposed like this, the aggregate wears its history openly. Brick fragments sit as warm, rough-edged pieces, the shingle, graded from 10mm up to 40mm, gives the face a varied, undulating relief, and the basalt dust keeps the ground between them dark and finely grained. Every piece of reclaimed material can be seen and felt, giving a surface with real depth and grip.

Wall panels, cladding and external floors suit it well, anywhere a tactile, robust surface is called for. The mixed aggregate brings plenty of movement to larger areas, making it a strong fit for architectural projects after a muted, grounded tone with a raw, honest character.

With only reclaimed sand and aggregates in the mix, material stays out of landfill and no newly quarried stone is needed, while local sourcing keeps transport distances short and regional supply chains strong. We can adjust the aggregate size, pigment balance and depth of exposure for each brief.
