ZGIND23_P_LE_SP – Zinc Grey Architectural Concrete
The ZGIND23_P_LE_SP sample showcases a bespoke Zinc Grey concrete finish that combines Bianco Carrara marble aggregate with clear glass fragments, both graded at 3–5mm, to create a distinctive, light-reflective surface. Cast on a fine Warmwell sand base, the contrast between the two materials introduces variation in texture and appearance, bringing depth and visual interest to the Zinc Grey concrete. The glass fragments add a subtle reflective quality, complementing the natural character of the marble and creating a finish that responds to changing light conditions. With a Light Reflectance Value (LRV) of 50.35%, the sample offers a relatively high level of light reflectance, making it a versatile choice for architectural applications where material detail and light interaction are key design considerations.

Material choice sits at the core of our sustainability approach. By pairing natural marble with glass aggregate, the ZGIND23 mix reflects our interest in combining traditional and alternative materials, and where available and suitable for the project, locally sourced sands and aggregates help reduce transportation distances and support regional supply chains.

To perform in demanding environments, including wet-area applications like vanity sinks, this surface receives a multi-stage factory sealing process. The concrete matrix is deep-treated to close and pore-fill the surface, sealed with an advanced protective coat and finished with a layer of micro-crystalline wax. Our bespoke approach means architects and designers can balance light interaction, surface character, durability and environmental impact when specifying a glass-aggregate architectural concrete.
