Berkeley Group, Saffron Square

Saffron Square is a modern, contemporary development situated at the heart of Croydon comprising of 756 private suites.

The centrepiece of the development is the impressive 43-storey tower, which will create a dominant focal point for the new Croydon skyline.  Beneath the tower sits the concierge lobby hall; the heart of resident’s facilities and features a huge MASS concrete poetry wall depicting words and phrases from some of England’s greatest poets; Rossetti, Keats and Tennyson.

Deep debossed lettering was formed using water-jet cut polystyrene to create the 120mm thick cast concrete panels. A series of mock-ups were produced in order to agree the required texture and aesthetic with the client.
