Moor Lane Plants

Moor Lane Community Garden by Wayward

Moor Lane Community Garden by Wayward

The Moor Lane Community Garden is an installation by Wayward that aims to bring nature into the Capital and increase the provision of green space. The project is a collaboration between the City of London Corporation, Culture Mile and Wayward.

Created as a temporary project, the design is a test bed for a future landscaping project in Moor Lane.

A series of interlocking precast concrete planters manufactured by MASS incorporate the Culture Mile colour palette and logo. Each planter is informed by elements of castle architecture such as crenellations, flanking and buttresses, using a combination of smooth honed and textured finishes to mirror the Barbican’s distinctive concrete structure.

Moor Lane Community Garden was featured in Wallpaper* Magazine's list of best architectural gardens around the world. You can read the article here.
