BB08 C7_INDP_LE_RESIN – Grey Building Waste Concrete

Nothing in the aggregate of BB08_C7 is new. Part of our Basalt Black range, this architectural concrete has a cool grey matrix coloured with black pigment, and every sand and aggregate in it is reclaimed: crushed brick from building waste, recycled shingle and fine black basalt dust, all given a second life. Industrial polishing cuts through them to reveal ochre, yellow, terracotta and black pieces against the grey, each one a fragment of something that came before. With a Light Reflectance Value (LRV) of 26.77%, it sits at the darker end of our palette.

Each material plays its part. The reclaimed brick adds warm flashes of terracotta; the basalt dust deepens the matrix into a fine, speckled ground; and the recycled shingle, graded from 10mm up to 40mm, spreads the polished face from fine grain to larger stones. With several waste streams in one mix, no two areas read exactly alike.

Floors and wall panels show it at its best, where the variety in the aggregate can be appreciated up close and across a wide area. It also suits architectural projects that want a muted backdrop with real character in the detail, particularly where reuse is part of the design story.

By relying only on reclaimed sand and aggregates, this mix keeps material out of landfill and removes the need for newly quarried stone. Sourcing locally keeps transport distances short and supports regional supply chains, and the aggregate and pigment balance can be adjusted to suit each brief.
