RED26_INDP_LE_INT
The RED26_INDP_LE_INT sample showcases a bespoke concrete finish characterised by a distinctive blend of mineral aggregates and rich, layered tones. The combination of 0–2mm silica sand, 1–2mm dolomite and 6mm red granite introduces variation in particle size and texture, adding depth and visual interest to the surface. Complementing the natural character of the aggregates, the carefully developed pigmentation, a blend of red, yellow and cobalt blue, gives the material a bold identity, making it a distinctive choice for architectural applications where colour and materiality play a central role in the design. With a Light Reflectance Value (LRV) of 19.84%, the sample has a relatively low level of light reflectance, contributing to its visual depth.
Sustainability informs the way we select and combine materials. The RED26 mix draws on natural sands and stone aggregates, and where available and suitable for the project, locally sourced materials help reduce transportation distances and support regional supply chains. Bespoke mix design then allows us to respond to each project’s aesthetic and technical requirements.
Responsible specification is key to more sustainable concrete solutions. Depending on the application and performance requirements, alternative or recycled materials can be explored, and our bespoke approach allows architects and designers to consider the relationship between aggregate selection, colour, surface character, durability and environmental impact when specifying a bold, red-toned architectural concrete.
