TER60 C1_IND_P_LE_DS – Architectural Terrazzo

At MASS Concrete, we routinely partner with prestigious global brands to deliver custom terrazzo schemes for high-end retail and commercial spaces worldwide. We transform traditional terrazzo from a classic decorative finish into a highly engineered, planet-conscious structural material. Our mix design framework, exemplified by our TER60C1 formulation, perfectly balances raw, deep-toned aggregates with optimised binders to achieve an elegant Light Reflectance Value (LRV) of 17.5%, maximising both visual texture and structural performance.

Sustainability is woven directly into our material selection. The TER60C1 matrix showcases our commitment to utilising dense, natural mineral components, combining a robust sand foundation with intensely characterful charcoal-grey slate and dark black basalt aggregates. By relying on these raw, chemically inert, and microplastic-free geological elements, we craft high-end architectural surfaces that boast a minimum environmental footprint and an almost infinite operational lifecycle.

To ensure complete design continuity across varied spatial geometries, we offer this dense aggregate terrazzo in two distinct formats. Clients can select traditional heavy precast concrete, which provides a substantial, monolithic presence ideal for ground works, thick claddings, and heavy-duty stair treads. Alternatively, we offer an advanced, lightweight Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete (GRC) option that captures the exact same dense aggregate visual while drastically slashing the overall dead load of the structure.

Where MASS really stands apart is our ability to offer exceptional flexural strength and deflection control that traditional terrazzo simply cannot match. While standard terrazzo is prone to cracking under structural movement, our advanced engineering allows for sweeping, uninterrupted expanses and complex architectural profiles. Because factors like overall weight, structural deflection, and aggregate size ultimately dictate the choice of material, our in-house structural engineer, is always on hand to field any technical questions and help review your specific build-ups.
